Learn how to achieve a range of hues from a single dyepot! On the first day of this 2-day workshop, we’ll mix, thicken, and paint with several mordants. We’ll dye our fabrics on day 2 and observe as our fabrics take up a range of colors as mordant mixes with dye. Students should bring: a pair of fabric scissors, 3-4 paintbrushes in various sizes, and fabric design ideas/sketches. A fundamental knowledge of the natural dye process is very helpful in the course.
